Coldplay Daily would like to wish Coldplay’s golden guy and front man, Chris Martin a VERY Happy Birthday. Chris turned 35 today and is in the U.S. doing promotional work with the boys, and celebrating in between!

US TV appearances + support acts
Good afternoon. We’re pleased to report that Coldplay have confirmed two new TV appearances in the US. You can see the band performing a block party show on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live: After The Academy Awards, on Sunday, 26 February. They will also be making their debut on ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday, 2 March.
In other North American news, we can confirm the support acts for the tour, which begins on April 17. They are Metronomy, The Pierces,Robyn, Wolf Gang, Marina and the Diamonds and Emeli Sandé. See below for the full itinerary:

New Year’s Day is often referred to as “guaranteed first hangover of the year”. For the British music industry, I’d hazard a guess that the day after the BRIT Awards sees a hilariously impressive spike in the number of email accounts set to auto-respond with “I’m not in the office today”.
Somewhat disappointingly - or indeed not, I find myself fully able to function today. But then, I did have a job to do last night…

Coldplay win at the BRITs!
Congratulations to our amazing boys for winning the ‘Best British Group’ award at the BRIT Awards 2012, on Tuesday night.
After the gong was handed to them, Chris took to Twitter to express his thanks and his tweets included ‘Thank you so much to anyone who voted and got us a Brit tonight. It means a lot to us.’
The boys also performed the new single ‘Charlie Brown’, which you can see here.

L.A Hiatus, back soon!
Hey guys!
As some of you may know, as I mentioned on Twitter - I’m going away for 7 days to the city of angels… Los Angeles! Obviously this means that I miss updating on MAJOR events like the Grammys and BRIT Awards which Coldplay are both nominated and performing at. I will update on both of these things and more though, as soon as I get back.
I get back from L.A on the night on 19th February and it will probably take me a few days to get back in order, unpack and sort myself out, so expect tweets a few days later from my return date and proper posts later on. If anyone has any questions about the trip after I get back, then feel free to either tweet me on my personal twitter account or the official Coldplay Daily twitter account!

Charlie Brown: Official Video!
Incase you haven’t seen it yet (it has been posted everywhere!), then make sure you check out the official video for Coldplay’s new single, Charlie Brown.
The video was filmed in London not long ago and directed by the fantastic Mat Whitecross who also did the official video for Paradise.
Xylobands inventor Jason Regler
Coldplay fan Jason Regler invented the Xyloband flashing wristbands which have become such an incredible part of the Mylo Xyloto live shows - and which feature in the new Charlie Brown video.
